Expertise: I can answer questions about tire brand applications without Brand bias or company loyalties. Any bias that I may have is based on practical and real world experiences. I will answer questions about tire sizes, wear, speed ratings, load indexes as well as most other questions about passenger, light truck, tractor along with RV/trailer & medium truck tires. Please include the type of drivetrain for vehicles: 2WD, 4WD, AWD and if the vehicle is lifted or lowered. If you have a tractor question please indicate if it's 2WD, Front Assist or 4WD.

Experience in the area
1) 2 years as a lead tire builder and 7 years in quality assurance diagnosing failures at the plant level and in the field. This work was performed for a major tire manufacturer. 2) 18 years in sales to the end user of ALL types and brands of tires.

What do you like about this subject? The fact that tire technology is ever changing.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field? Hmm, hard to say as I have had such a diversified career.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know: ANY TIRE regardless of brand has to meet U.S. DOT requirements thus, the basic techniques employed in tire construction is the same regardless of manufacturer. The RAW materials used by MOST manufacturers is purchased from from the same vendors or originates from the same sources.

Something controversial or provocative about this subject A controversy that will always rage in tire manufacturering is who makes the best. The "BEST" in my opinion is the brand that best suits the consumers appllication.
