What do you like about this subject?

Architecture is in the backdrop of everything we do. It affects us physically and psychologically. It is important to understand why and how buildings evolved based on materials, culture, and budget.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

I spent my early years in Turkey and Greece surrounded by ancient and classical buildings. These left an indelible imprint on my psyche. However I graduated with a Master degree in a program based on Bauhaus philosophy. So, I have an ambivalence as I stand between both approaches seemingly in a chasm!

Hello Mr. Durio,  You will have to transfer out as soon as possible if you wish to qualify for an architectural degree and not spend time on credits that may not transfer.  From the freshman year there

2011-04-23 Italianate gazebo:

Hi Lance,  The term Italianate stricly refers to a revival style in the U.S. in the mid to late 1800's.  These were more typically assymetrical designs in a mix of Renaissance details that included towers
