I have 22+ years of cross stitching experience, which includes stitching on Aida, evenweave linen, vinyl canvas, and have stitched a design on a cotton t-shirt using waste canvas. I have also worked with beads and blending filament in quite a few projects. I have made many projects which include cross stitched mugs, a keychain, pictures, magnets, and the cotton t-shirt. I can answer questions pertaining to preparing and cleaning fabric, preparing clothing for stitching, how many threads to be used on which Aida cloth, and will try to help you to the best of my ability with other questions you may have. I am prompt in my responses and usually answer within 24 hours from when you ask your question. I look forward to helping you. :)
It has been a hobby of mine for almost 22 years and I find it extremely relaxing and very rewarding. You can create projects that you can't buy in the stores, ranging from mugs, bookmarks, afghans, photo albums, address books, etc. All the items listed can be purchased at your nearest Hobby Lobby or Michaels craft stores or even Wal-Mart.
Someday, I hope to start my own business from home making gifts. It's a tad time consuming and so I would need advanced notice. It's something unique for one person to give to another.

Hello, Carol From what I understand with 14 count Aida, there is 10 squares per 1". Since the original design was stitched on 28 count Jobelan over 2 fabric threads, then I would think that if you
Hello, Irina I've never stitched over 2 fabric threads when stitching on 18 count Aida as I've always stitched over the 1, just like you would stitch over one if you were to stitch onto 14 count Aida
Hello, Carol Yes, you can use 14 count Aida instead of the Jobelan, but I would suggest using a minimum of 2 strands of floss while stitching on to the 14 count Aida. You can also use 3 strands if
Hello, Rachel You can try using 3 strands and see if that covers the material well enough to give you the desired effect. Also, try stitching a small section using 4 strands and see if that gives you
Hello, Peggy You don't get the design onto the waste canvas (ie. print it). Instead, you simply stitch the design onto the waste canvas as you normally would if you stitching the same design onto 14
