I can answer general questions about retail and retail management. I prefer to concentrate on the organizational behavior and management aspects of the retail industry. If you help managing your people, then I am your guy. I do many several years of front-line management experience in retail management; I fought in the trenches side-by-side with my employees and I have a REALISTIC point of view about the retail industry. Beyond, retail management I can answer questions about logistics, merchandising, product placement and basic financials.
I have been in retail management for 20 years and I have dealt with countless and unique situations with employees. There is nothing new that can surprise me when dealing with employees and work. In the past 20 years I have worked for several Fortune 500 Retailers including but not limited to the following: 1) Blockbuster Video as a Store Manager, 2) Walgreens as an Executive Assistant Store Manager, 3)The Sports Authority as the Operations Manager, 4) Toys R Us as the Guest Services Manager, 5) Oreck Clean Home Centers as an Assistant Store Manager, 6) Dollar General Stores as a Lead Sales Associate and 3rd Key Holder and 7) Circuit City Stores as a Sales Team Lead.
I am an Online Professor for Grand Canyon University, Ashford University and I am on on-ground adjunct instructor for local and area colleges. I teach business, communications and management classes. Currently I am heavily involved as an Alumni Ambassador for my Alma Maters; assisting and helping recent graduates with finding employment and career goals.
I am completing my dissertation and will receive my Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. In 2005, I received my Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. In 2011 I will take the test SHRM Test to become a Professional Human Resource Manager.
