What do you like about this subject?  I love the mix of history, practicality and the sheer unknown that chemistry offers.
What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  That's another great thing about chemistry; there's so much we still have to learn. I'm really interested in imaging / computer viewing of molecules as they react, but I look forward to finding out lots of other things on the way.
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  Did you know..... *Silver metal is antibacterial, and is used in some medical dressings. *Caesuim metal explodes if you get it wet. *Smoke detectors contain small amounts of the radioactive element Americium. *Water is one of the few substances that expands as it freezes.
