I love this breed and want owners to understand how to have a happy dog who's getting superior nutrition and how to deal with veterinarians.
What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?
I learn something new every day and don't think that process will ever end.
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:
Cockers are cute, sociable dogs. They're also very dominant dogs and if it's handled immediately & correctly this can be history in a week. Let it go and it's big trouble.
Something controversial or provocative about this subject
I encourage people to do their homework when it comes to vets. They're not all equal and not all are good. Ask questions. Read up on medications. Avoid steroids unless convinced they're necessary. Be pro-active ! Get referrals to specialists.

Hopefully he prescribed the Baytril for a month? A lot of vets do too short a course and everything ends up coming back. If he didn't - insist on it! Especially since she has skin bumps. I'm glad

The reason she's doing this is because you're feeding a really, really inferior food which is loaded with cheap fillers and not enough protein. I can only beg you to get her on a better diet and continue
2009-11-04 15 1/2 yr old Cocker Spaniel with intestinal issues, as well as several others:
First, get her off Rimadyl. This could be causing a ton of problems. Think back - did this start with the Rimadyl? You don't say how long this has been going on. But I'd certainly try the following:
