What do you like about this subject?

I love this breed and want owners to understand how to have a happy dog who's getting superior nutrition and how to deal with veterinarians.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

I learn something new every day and don't think that process will ever end.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

Cockers are cute, sociable dogs. They're also very dominant dogs and if it's handled immediately & correctly this can be history in a week. Let it go and it's big trouble.

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

I encourage people to do their homework when it comes to vets. They're not all equal and not all are good. Ask questions. Read up on medications. Avoid steroids unless convinced they're necessary. Be pro-active ! Get referrals to specialists.

Get the better food and on day One - 10% mixed with her old food. You have enough of the Nutro to make the switch. Increase daily...see how stool is..add more. Some dogs have no issue switching foods

Well, yes...it certainly can be done. I just want you to be sure you know what you're in for :) - so I suggest a certain amount of "getting ready" with supplies and reading up on how to care for a dog

2009-11-19 Age of Puppy:

A 4 week old puppy isn't weaned yet so it's hard to understand why your friends would be doing this. You'd need to understand the sort of constant care a pup this age needs. No breeder would ever release

2009-11-17 Troublesome Cocker:

Okay...the second he growls - you stop and you position yourself right in front of him and in a low but deadly serious voice say NO and STARE into his eyes (pretend you're Clint Eastwood and you're ticked

Thanks for the compliment, Mark :) I think, deep down, you already know the answer..."I guess the rules got relaxed and he reverted back to being naughty". Bingo! A lot of rules is okay, but basically
