What do you like about this subject?
I do it for a living, and work with some of the best designers/artists in the world. I quit working for the major toy companies, so I can produce pieces that are works of art, the highest quality made.
What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?
Since I work with the best designers and artists in the world (Futura, Stash, Maharishi, Ron English, Kozik, etc.) I'm at the top of this field and market. I've had artist toys I've worked on in the Museum of Modern Art NYC and the Museum of Contemporary art in LA. Always looking for the next major artist/designer.
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:
I designed the first collectors Action Figures , "Hard Corps", in 1991. You can find out more about this in Tomart's Action Figure Encyclopedia. There is almost a full page on this line. Toy companies at the time weren't interested, as they said "Adults don't buy toys." Later, McFarlane brought out their first line for adults.
