I am especially interested in helping people who may be in the throes of doubting their present belief stance - whether they are currently religious or atheist. I believe I can also lend perspective to those seeking to understand their own movement away from faith or that of someone close to them.
Despite a Catholic upbringing, I consciously discarded that religion over thirty years ago. However, in the last eighteen years I have been extensively researching the topic of belief versus non-belief and have discovered correlations among the experts that, seen together, lend a very intriguing perspective to this topic. I am currently writing a book for the general public about the religious/spiritual development stages.

Despite holding four college degrees, the only one relevant to this topic is my undergraduate degree from the Catholic University of America where required theology and philosophy courses formed the equivalent of a college minor.
To me, the issue of belief versus non-belief is one of the most intriguing aspects of our existence.

Thanks for the follow-up "question" and the good recommendation. Two further thoughts come to mind. 1) we have in our town an amazing church run by a guy who, as far as I can tell, is a very genuine
This is indeed a difficult dilemma you face, and of course it is made all the more difficult by the fact that you are to some extent dependent upon your parents for their help. I faced a similar dilemma
Well, Amber - if your teacher assigned those questions, I certainly commend them for encouraging you students to question so deeply. I feel it is only in posing such questions and dealing with the doubts
Thank you for your question, Joanna. To be honest, I am anything but an expert on scripture, so anything I tell you about how the Bible relates to reincarnation would only be parroting what someone else
Some atheists, to be sure, are without morals. But many/most who have actually thought through their beliefs sufficiently to call themselves atheist have moved beyond the need for moral rules supplied
