If you are looking to buy a home here and are curious about whether or not you'll need to purchse flood insurance in a certain neighborhood or for a certain house, I am THE expert in that arena, as that is what I do for a living.

Experience in the area
Though I have only lived here since 2001, my mother was born and raised here, and so I had a grandmother here whom I visited several times per year until her death in 1999. I also have several friends who are native Austinites. My job as Flood Map Analyst means that I am typically abreast of all the new subdivisions being developed in the Austin area. Beware, though: If you have a list of criteria for the kind of home you want to buy and you are looking for someone to do extensive research in order to match you with the right Austin area home, call a realtor.
