Carmen, Think you may have two movies mixed together.. the plot you describe is from Far From Heaven, made in 2002, but that movie was a remake of a film called All that Heaven Allows, made in 1955

Julia... Could you be thinking of "Anne OF Green Gables"? Or maybe "Sense and Sensibility"? The box description fits "Anne of Green Gables" but the plot suits "Sense" more... See if either of these
