Hi Joe, Ronnie Hawkins did "Mary Lou" on the Apex label. It was picked up for more aggressive distribution by Roulette Records in the US and by Columbia in the UK. It went on to be a decent sized hit
Hi Anthony, In a grocery store, it certainly sounds like OOO AA OOOO but....upon more careful inspection, the song you likely heard was a 1962 summer hit for a Philadelphia group called The Orlons.
