Warm him up by walking then trotting, once he is warmed up you can lope circles or ride at a lope in a pasture until he blows then bring him back to a trot or walk till he gets his breathing slowed down

Elizabeth,  You will want to get SMB boots and bell boots for him to protect his legs and a joint supplement would be a great idea.You need to make sure he is fit before you start running him hard on barrels

Avery  I guess you have to ask yourself which is more important to you barrels or your horse. It should not take you years to get him going if you have him riding good now, you should have him on the barrels

I think it is ok to run your seasoned horse at home just don't drill him (run over and over) you have to learn him and that takes time. You can play on poles and trail ride. The more you ride him the more

Hey  I have a mare just like her, her biggest problem is she thinks she is smarter and can do it better, this is a problem with a lot of mares :) Don't get me wrong they are VERY smart and that is a Huge
