Soul/R&B/Expert Profile

Ask A Question

Brian Westland

I can answer questions about a wide range of music and atists that fall within the realm of soul/R&B from the beginning with Louis Jordan and the establishment of "Jump Blues" in the Forties through the classic Stax and Chess recordings of the Sixties and the establishment of "Philly Soul" in the Seventies.

Experience in the area

I am an avid record collector who has acquired thousands of recordings of popular music which encompass the genres of rock, jazz, blues, bluegrass, folk, etc. I am especially fond of traditional jazz, blues and country music recordings. The nearly forty that I have spent in pursuit of this interest compelled me to pen the popular music guides which appear on Amazon, "A Guide to Essential Popular Music-Volume 1" and "A Guide to Essential Popular Music-Volume 2." I recently published the guide, "Ultimate Classic Rock" on Amazon. My books can be found at the following links:

TESOL Certificate - 2002 University of Western Ontario Bachelor of Art. (Psychology) -2000 Sheridan College - Social Service Worker diploma -1990 Richview Collegiate Institute-grades 9-13

Awards and Honors

I was recently awarded the "rising star" accolade for my hubpages hub on the music of the Band.
