Expert Profile: Robert Riley

Expertise:  I can answer questions (general, medical, travel, tourism, business, statistics) regarding the region and cities of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA): City of Toronto (old cities of Toronto, Scarborough, York, North York, East York and Etobicoke), Durham Region (including Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa), York Region (including Markham, Newmarket, Aurora, Vaughn, Richmond Hill), and Peel Region (including Mississauga, Brampton). Need to know what to see, what to do or where to stay in Toronto? Want to find out what the City of Mississauga (the sixth largest city in Canada) has to offer? Need to find a house or apartment in Oshawa? Interested in starting a business in Markham? Want information on where to get the best medical and hospital services in the region, or how to find a doctor? I have an extensive network of contacts to assist me in answering any inquiry, and can put you in touch with the right businesses and people to meet your needs.

Experience in the area
Long time resident of Toronto and Peterborough (I can also answer your inquiries about the City of Peterborough and the beautiful Kawartha Lakes region). Former executive assistant at a major university-affiliated hospital with intimate knowledge of regional hospitals and health care. I also have, through years of personal experience, great knowledge of a variety of issues pertaining to the GTA including travel/tourism, accessing local governments, where to shop for the best buys, where to dine, and more.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  Toronto is the 4th largest City in North America (Canada/U.S.) and is poised to knock Chicago out of the #3 position behind only New York City and Los Angeles. **This fact is debatable, of course, as different statistics use different methods (e.g., population of city proper versus a census region). However, based on generally accepted "greater" areas, Toronto is set to move into 3rd place.
