I own and maintain a large number of tanks with many various tropical fish species. During my fishkeeping past I have learned a lot of the myths and truths about tropical fish care. Currently I keep a wide range of species and have a lot of experience in; Severum cichlids, gouramis, platies, goldfish, bettas, tetras, paradise fish, Angelfish, Corydoras catfish, and many others as well as a couple of years with brackish water. If you have a question on tropical fish keeping I`ll be sure to answer it in the simplest way I can, and if I don`t know the answer, I`ll research the answer for you. Happy fish keeping!
I have experience in setting up fish tanks, what to feed certain species, compatible species in my experience, cleaning the tank,
and all around tropical fish care. I also have learned the truth of many of the myths of tropical fish keeping in the past.
Happy fishkeeping!
I love the diversity of colors, habits, and shapes of tropical fish. Keeping fish is fun if you know what your doing. They are such interesting little (or big!) creatures and there is always something new to learn.
I learn something new everyday. But I would like to try my hardest to help people better understand their fish and prevent unnecessary fish cruelty through lack of knowledge. A real dream would be to find a way to spawn the unique dragon fish so at least fewer dragons would have to be wild-caught and kept emaciated and stressed in petstores.

Hi Cathy, Plecos can actually do okay in cooler water. But I would keep the heater turned on due to the colder winter months approaching, but maintain a temp of about 72 to 74F. Goldfish can thrive well
Hello, Columbian sharks can be a bit difficult to take care of due to demanding water requirements. When young, these fish can live in freshwater... but when older they do better with brackish water.
Hi Max, I'm reluctant to say that this is truly a disease but I'd prefer to say this is an environmental issue here instead. Environmental problems are the number one cause of fish problems and are often
Hi Julie, I'm sorry to hear that. The angelfish may be having some trouble due to old age. She is getting up there in years. The bruise may be natural coloration or in fact be an actual 'bruise' from
Hi Erica, The black moor and other goldfish likely will be fine together. As long as both types are getting their fair share of food and no one is bullying anybody. The white spot may be nothing
