Expert Profile: Marla

Expertise:  I have crocheted many doilies, I enjoy working with crochet thread. I have crocheted numerous afghans. But I have little to no experience in hairpin lace, or the afghan stitch. If you have a question pertaining to a pattern in a magazine, book or leaflet, please include the name and # of it, and the page or pattern #. There is a slight possibility I may have that pattern, and can refer to it. Although I have crocheted sweaters and slippers,I don't feel I have done enough of them to really give good advice as to assembling the pieces, but can give advice on the type of stitches.

Experience in the area
I have been a crocheter for almost 30 years.

2008-11-14  crochet decrease help please Hi! Thanks for asking! Unfortunately, I do not have that issue. I only have January and March for that year. The directions are confusing to me, also. One way I think it could be (but may not necessarily...
2008-11-12  lightning bolt Hi Paula! Thanks for asking! The only pattern of a lightening bolt I have is where each line is a separate “bolt”, and probably is not what you want. I searched on the web for patterns, but couldn’t find...
2008-11-06  afghan Hi Kathy! Thanks for asking. First I need to know if when you mean "all on one side", do you mean the missed stitches are all on one side of the afghan, or the afghan is crocheted by starting on the same...
2008-10-25  blocking an afghan Hi Cheryl! Thanks for asking. I usually don’t block my afghans except for maybe the sides and ends if they have curled up, and then I only VERY lightly iron them. But I found a website that gives really...
