Can you wash Home Decor Fabrics? Only if you test! Cut a 12"square and serge the edges then wash it on hot and discover the results. Many fabrics can be washed but not always recommended. Testing will help you decide if the fabric should be dry cleaned or is washable.

Mary 1. Yes you should cut the welt cord fabric on the bias. You could make your bias in a accent color or the stripe. If you are going to wash the cushion cover you should use cellulose fiber welt

Personally, I send my sheer draperies out to another workroom and I have been sewing draperies for 10 years. My suggestion would be to hand hem them. I hand hem most of my silk draperies for clients
Start by taking out the hem. Put the pants on wrong side out and have some one pin the area that you want to taper and ease into the taper section from the original seam. Basically just stitch them down
