I'll be glad to answer any question related to US politics, regarding domestic or international issues.

Experience in the area

I've studied US history and politics for nearly 20 years. I'm currently also volunteering in the American, European, and Medieval history categories.

What do you like about this subject?

Issues of life and death, war and peace, wealth and poverty, are all influenced by the politics of our country. It's important to understand it, and to participate in the political system.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

I'm always hoping to achieve a deeper understanding of the process by which power is distributed in the US.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

The Democratic party, which purportedly represents the poor, obtains most of its money from a few very large donations. The Republican party, which supposedly represents the rich, obtains most of its money from $2000 contributions from individuals

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

Congress passed a law to permit automatic pay raises every year unless members voted against it. The purpose was to prevent an actual vote on a pay raise.
