Expertise

All about the mysteries of space, history, current & planned projects, new theories and experiments. Also about Space-travel. Experience in the area

I am a lifetime hobby astronomer from the age 11 mostly till 1990 in the Southern hemisphere, had a 8-inch, now mostly use the internet as my observation platform when not at the club.

What do you like about this subject?

There are no "stupid" questions to space and astronomy because so few study it and man has so much still to explore and learn.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

As new missions develop, promote and help understand space better.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

"Gravity is not constant and not some kind of magical force, it is simply a reaction caused by cosmical rays of a yet to be identified type." RR

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

Our atmosphere is an extremely thin and sensitive protective layer for us on earth, much like that of a mothers womb!

Hi Umesh    Astronauts like those on the ISS in any rocket see mainly clouds and blue ocean when looking at Earth. It is not looking out of the window that is important in space but all the experiments

2009-06-02 Space Stations:

Hi Shelly    Space Stations are permanent living quarters in space with food, air and water for man to survive outside the Earth's biosphere.    They are built mainly as laboratories to experiment in zero

Hi again    No you cannot see the Asteroid belt from Mars with the naked eye. The Milky Way is far brighter. Even the largest objects are in the belt are too small. The Earth's Moon appears about as big

Hi Dane     We are between Mars and the Sun so the Earth will be seen from Mars as an morning or evening object just like we see Venus and Mercury just around sunrise and sunset, often as a crescent. The
