Reconnecting kids to mother earth is vital to the balance and harmony of this planet. What could be more rewarding than to be a conduit for that connection?
Throughout my lifetime, I have always learned much from birds, insects and plants. They will always be my teachers. I especially strive to listen to them before and after my quiet time around the medicine wheel.
There are a host of free resource offerings and some funding opportunities for novel environmental education programs in California and across the nation. In many cases....."If you build it, they will fund".
Between 20%-30% of my high school students have never been to the mountains or beach even though they are within an hour's drive. "Today's parents are simply dropping the ball on outdoor experiences for their kids." This is truly shocking.
