I can answer questions about Dub, the artists, studios, the instruments, vocals, and recording techniques. I'm not Ras Tafarian, but I understand the culture and I love the music.
I've been playing lead guitar over 40 years, and I've spent a fair amount of time in recording studios and working at sound boards. I've never recorded Dub, however, I've been studying Reggae on and off since the 1970's. I spend about 1 or 2 hours a week studying Reggae and Dub.
Aside from my experience, I have only a modest amount of formal recording studio training. I have a degree in computer science and post graduate studies.
I consider the studio work of the recording engineers to be truly artistic.
