I consider myself to be a "doctrine specialist" if there is such a thing. I offer scripture to support or refute (as needed) any doctrine practiced within what is commonly termed "Christianity" today. This includes catholicism, which is actually the first denomination, or offshoot of Christianity. Yes, you read that right, there is a church that preexists catholicism. It wasn't founded after, as was protestantism. And, it is still in existence today
I became a Christian on April 7, 1969. I have been a substitute, spur-of-the-moment preacher for thirty years. My last pulpit was with the congregation in Braswell, GA. My sermons have always contained at least fifty percent scripture. On occasion, I have preached in seven states, and four foreign nations. This is beside my online ministry. I am now, officially retired.
Having already acquired significant Bible education from self-study, I attended 1.5 years of Bible college through the church at Dyersburg, TN (before my health waned) in an attempt to get paper to say I know what I know.
While I am not a history expert, I can run research to find out about when a practice was introduced into the apostate religions, especially catholicism. Would you like me to find this information as well? There is a new Christian sattelite network beginning 11-26-05: http://www.GBNTV.org . Look for it.
We all continue to grow if we are faithful. When we stop growing, it is time to take a deep look at ourselves.
There is a prophecy relating to churches of Christ of which many are unaware. In 533 A.D. pope John II was named "Lord of the Church." This completed catholicism's break from the church, and sent us into hiding; "The Dark Ages." Revelation 12:6 says the church would remain in this wilderness "1260 days." In 1793 (1260 years after pope John II) the Restoration began. We became known again.
A chapel is a church building, right? "A Cappella" translates from Latin to "Of the Chapel." "A Cappella" music is "Of the Chapel" music; it is in church buildings. Logically then, instrumental music is not found in church buildings. So, if there is an instrument added to worship, it is not the church; the worship is vain (empty of meaning) teaching man's words.

Hi! Jayden, you are correct that different religions allow it for certain circumstances, and some not at all. There is always adoption, in the case of rape, IF a mother hates her child that much simply
Hi! Jayden, What I know about catholicism is only the official position; the "pope" is against it. You see, catholicism, like islam, is a religion inherited by birth. If any catholics start murdering
Hi! Heaven, I will be happy to answer for you. The name, “Roman catholic,” is not found in the word of God. As you have gathered, most of the practices of that religion are not in the Bible. In fact
Hi! Farron, my purpose in this category, vis a vis the very name of the category, is to show what is wrong with catholicism. There is much. Because they incorporate about 40% Judaism, and 40% paganism
Hi! Khajyn, I don’t understand. If you don’t want to hear criticisms of catholicism, why ask someone who is volunteer expert on why catholicism should be criticized? Anyway, let me share with you
