Maltese, Maltese, Maltese..... is basically a very healthy breed with few medical problems. I am owned by a Maltese gal....She is so cute!!! FOR a Quick Answer : e-mail me here: mpmaltese@gmail.com I am here to answer any medical and breeding questions. Also, I would be glad to answer any nutrition concerns. Diet and feeding, just ask Marie. I can advise you as to When you need to see the Vet. Also, I can advise you when supplements and vitamins may help your little Maltese. ***My comments and answers to your questions or any information in my articles is not to be used "in lieu of" veterinarian's advise, diagnosis, or treatment.**

Experience in the area

My experience is with Whelping this breed. Nutritonal concerns: In my experience, the Maltese will do well on any one of several dry dog foods, depending on his level of activity, his metabolism, and his individual body chemistry. Often, I will refer to Holist brands for your review. Also, I am a pet chef and can offer food preperation instructions. Because of the requirements of a healthy coat many owners find that Maltese do best on a diet that is high in protein and fat content. If your Maltese is doing well on the food you are feeding do not switch. If you have skin problems that cannot be traced to an obvious cause such as fleas, consider a food with a higher fat content or one of the hypoallergenic foods.
