What do you like about this subject?  I like meeting new people and sharing everything that we've learned with each other. Crabs are fun and fascinating creatures and I never get tired of just staring into the tank and watching them explore their surroundings.
What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  There is a lot of science and biology that I'm learning now but still have a ways to go. I'd like to understand more about how their anatomy works so that we can use that to educate each other about food and behavior.
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  Hermit crabs are wild harvested animals that go through a great deal to get to their pet store destination.
Something controversial or provocative about this subject  Painted shells are cruel and should be banned by the US government, until then, boycott painted shells!

Thank you so much for your help. I guess we'll just have to wait it out for the 4-6 weeks or so and keep doin' what we're doin' and hope for the best.

2008-10-14  Hostage situation . . . may be be an emergency (?) You really need to find a way to get them separated. A crab intent on shell stealing can do the crab inside real damage. I would isolate the aggressor and remove and clean all the shells. You may have...
