I am quite knowledgeable on housing, care, genetics, hereditary defects, color identification, breeding practices, socialization, rat rescue situations, raising orphaned babies, trapping feral rats, and basic illnesses and disorders a pet rat is prone to. I can answer any question related to every day circumstances and even those a bit more unusual.
I'm a hobby breeder and have bred for the public since early 2005. Prior I worked as a PIJAC certified associate for a major pet store chain for 4 years. I currently work as a pet store consultant as well.

I found very early in life that i enjoyed the company of animals more so than people - pets can't tell you what is wrong, so you really have to listen! I think everyone can benefit from learning how to listen, and that's what I enjoy most.

It does sound an awful lot like mange, to me.. although with so many other conditions, it could have been just about anything. Jeez, poor thing! You guys are saints for handling her so well! Normally
Eek. I'm sorry to hear of this. Discontinue the lasix, given her symptoms, I feel it's unnecessary and you're right --- it's dehydrating her, it's a diuretic. Although I can see where the vet would
It could be a coincidence, but it sure sounds like an allergy. Are you using anything new regarding bedding, food, or shampoo/cologne? If so, chuck the new stuff and go back to the old, give it a week
