I can also tell you what kind of turtle you have if you send me pictures, which can be important if you want to give your turtle the best environment possible. Each species has adapted to living in a certain kind of environment, and each has adapted to a particular diet. I cannot diagnose medical conditions (your turtle should see a veterinarian if he or she has a possible health problem).

Experience in the area
I have 15 years experience as a box turtle parent. During that time I have dealt with, and successfully resolved, a number of problems and have had my fair share of veterinary visits. Also, I work in the (human) medical field so I have basic medical knowledge that can be useful to turtle parents :) (for example, I know about Salmonella and have seen how sick reptile Salmonella can make a person). I have also seen several different exotic animal veterinarians over the years, and am aware of some of the differing opinions in the veterinary community concerning box turtles.
