Natural Family Planning/Expert Profile

Ask A Question

Natural Family Planning is a risk-free, safe, and economical alternative to chemical and barrier contraceptives. NFP is easy to understand, aids in fertility awareness for spacing children as well as increasing communication and assisting couples to conceive. I do not answer questions about other forms of birth control.

Experience in the area

I like being able to help people find alternatives to artificial birth control. I am not a doctor or a medical person. I cannot answer medical questions.

What do you like about this subject?

Natural Family Planning helps you know your body and understand health and illness as well as fertility. It is a wonderful tool to use for all women and for the men who love them.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

I would like to learn how to be more convincing and compelling to help more people understand and believe in the empowerment that NFP brings to their lives.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

The divorce rate is practically non-existent for couples who use NFP instead of artificial contraception to space their children. NFP can also be used to help couples achieve pregnancy when there is a problem. You do not need medical training or assistance to use NFP.

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

Contraception is a great selfishness! Is it not at or near the root of our culture’s inability to sustain any deeply personal generosity, not to mention marriage and family life? It leads to disease (think of STDs), poverty (think of abandoned women), murder (think of abortion) and attitudes which engender conflicts of every kind?

I think it is all pretty unlikely.  If you had sex a couple of days after your period ended, you are still about a week or more before you might ovulate.  Sperm can't live very long inside you so it would

Louise, could you give me a bit more information?  I don't want to mislead you.  When did your last period start? When did it end? How long are your cycles?      There are a few days right after your period

Hi Joyce.  I guess you know you are fortunate to have been able to get pregnant if you really have POD.  Have you had that diagnosis confirmed by a recent examination?  The only way of regulating pregnancies
