Hi, well, as far as I know, there really isn't a metaphor of the song. It's just a fun, goofy song. I do remember one of the band members (Steve or Ed) saying they based it on a postcard(of chimps of course)
Well, the band themselves have been on a couple of TV shows, including "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Two Guys, A Girl, And A Pizza Place", and on both of those they actually preformed songs, but I don't know
