Hi Peg- This is really a LEGAL question, and not a REALTOR question, but my understanding is that in MA, the branches that are in your yard are yours - and your problem - while the branches in his yard
The best way to figure out what you can afford is to contact a mortgage broker. While I used income in my example, I'm assuming you have little debt, and good credit, which may or may not be the case

Hello Jason- There's dozens. The best sites are generally operated by real estate agents, but a good starter site is realtor.com. Boston.com is also a good starter site. I haven't checked them all
