It is so interconnected with every other subject--it is mostly science, but it also involves a bit of economics, politics, history, humanities--everything. I also believe that becoming well educated about the future of climate change is critical to humanity's progress.
It really doesn't have much to do with nature. So many believe "the environment" is something separate from humanity. That global warming is just about polar bears. It isn't--I couldn't care less about polar bears. By far the biggest danger about GW is its effect on the economy.
Is there any other topic out there that is *more* controversial than GW?

Hi Julian, It's actually really difficult to give specific predictions of little regions like that. The best we have are model simulations that show general trends in precipitation over large areas
