Hi Carl. Most gauges (aftermarket and factory) use only one wire sending units threaded on the block, head or water outlet, except newer vehicles which use a 2 terminal type monitored by the computers
which fuse are you removing? if it is the 15 amp stop fuse at the instrument panel fuse block and that took care of the problem even after removing the stoplight switch (green/white and green wires)
Yeah, it is a common issue on these, the multifunction switch is a high failure rate item, so more than likely thats your problem although it is still recommended to check for power directly getting to
Sounds to me like a short has been created in that area, although it is still possible that a lack of ground is the reason for your problems, the good news is that it seems that you have narrow it down
I apologize but I am unable to answer your question, I am not familiar with the vehicles involved (they do not sell those vehicles here in the us) and even do I tried to find a wiring diagram I was unable
