I am able to answer the majority of questions (biographical as well as musical) regarding the Carpenters, especially Karen. There are, however, some questions that I believe only Richard would know the correct answer to.
I have been a fan of their work since 1970 and have conducted extensive research for my own use. I also have an large collection of books, photographs, music and collectibles.
Nothing to do with the Carpenters, but I have a BSW in Social Work and a MA in Gerontology.

Yes, in 1984, Richard married Mary Rudolph (whose brother, Mark Rudolph, was the Carpenters' road manager, as well as the radio call-in "contestant" in the [Oldies] "Medley" on the 1973 album, Now & Then)

That's Karen when she was at Cal State Long Beach. Can't tell ya the name of the other singer though...backing them up is the choir at Cal state. There is a very rare vinyl LP with this song on it as well
