I'm not a musicologist, so please don't ask technical questions about chord changes and structures. I do know about Monk's repertoire and life, the musicians he played with, anecdotes, and of course, the recordings and live performances. One of my latest resources is Robin D.G. Kelley's biography 'Thelonious Monk - The Life and Times of an American Original' (Free Press, 2009).
Since listening to Monk's 'Lulu's Back in Town' back in 1967, I have been listening to Monk, collecting his music and reading whatever article or book or blog available.
Not a musicologist or scholar, just a 'close listener' and admirer of Thelonious Monk and his work.
