I have been involved in modern homesteading for 20 years. I currently live off-grid on our 45 acre homestead in southern Oklahoma where we garden extensively, raise milk goats and chickens, and practice self-sufficiency on a daily basis.
In the past I have written articles in Countryside and Backwoodsman magazines. I founded a Yahoo Group in 2000 called New Okie Pioneers where I posted and answered questions regularly for more than 8 years.
I am a retired Registered Nurse, graduating from Western Oklahoma State College in 1994. I am extensively self-educated in all aspects of homesteading and make it a point to try to expand my knowledge daily.
