Expertise

Mainly I am good at proofreading and helping edit completed rough drafts and help preparing them and turning them into final drafts. However, I can answer questions along the way and throughout the process. My expertise would be in essays and narratives. Grammar, writing quality, and how the paper flows would be the strongest areas where I could aid a person. Also I would be good at rating the content of information.

Experience in the area

I often proofread for a few organizations and since I am a student I am in the educational surrounding for most of the year. In our school our secondary English program is based upon several stages such as grammar units, composition I, composition II, speech I, and speech II. I have completed composition I and composition II attaining high marks in both categories. Also, in previous years I have attained high marks in the grammar sections as well.

Organizations

I belong to several organizations that include an English background and some that are extra curricular as well. English orientated organizations include Project Gutenburg Distributed Proofreaders (PGDP) where I have been and avidly active member since June of 2008. Beginning in June of 2009 I joined as a volunteer to the TV megasite and began editing transcripts.

Education/Credentials

Currently I am a junior at our high school and in a few months will be a senior. I have completed all of the courses that are mainly advanced that will steer me toward college and a professional career. All of the courses that I've taken in my high school career have displayed high marks in the grading system. I have always gotten A's in English in addition to my other subjects. I also help peers in tutoring.

Awards and Honors

In my youth I have been surrounded by awards and honors. I have lettered academically twice for obtaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher while my GPA has been 4.0. I have also received the President's Award for Academic Excellence every year since sixth grade. While I was in sixth grade I received the Student of the Year award which was based on a school-wide vote. In 2010 I lettered in Drama for aiding in the school play as I also did in 2009. I have been in Solo & Ensemble choir and band contests where I have participated in piano accompaniment parts and received high honors.

Past/Present Clients

As I have never charged individuals that requested my services for help before I do meet with others on a regular basis as a volunteer to help them the best that I could academically.

What do you like about this subject?

I like seeing the creative side in what writer's express through writing. It is fun to help out others and improve their work.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

Becoming more broad in my writing style, updated grammar rules, and creative ideas are some of what I intend to learn.
