Expertise: I can answer questions on many antiques coin operated machines. My main knowledge is in vending machines, slot machines, trade stimulators and early chewing gum collectibles. I can also answer questions about the restoration and repair of these machines. I have limited knowledge about juke boxes, soda machines, arcade machines and casino chips.
Experience in the area I started collecting coin-op machines in the early 1970’s. My first machine was a Columbus Dart gum machine and first slot machine was a Mills Diamond Front. The slot machine wasn’t working and information or parts were almost nonexistent, so I just started learning by trial and error, plus made my own replacement parts. A few years later I heard about a retired slot machine repairman and would go on Saturdays to his house to learn about repairing, adjusting and diagnosing problems plus a history lesson about the machines and early days of their operation in this area.
After several years of collecting I saw a need for restoration decals, paper labels and instruction sheets for these machines and started producing them to help other collectors.
