Expertise

I can answer technical questions about camera operation, natural lighting, studio lighting, flash lighting, post-production, and software operation. I also can answer more subjective questions such as those on composition, stylization, inspiration, self-promotion, and equipment purchases. I am more than able to answer questions on any level of expertise from working professional to purely hobbyist.

Experience in the area

I have been active in photography for over 10 years. I have a bachelors degree in digital photography from the Illinois Institute of Art, and I have my own business on top of it. I currently instruct courses at Water Street Studios as well as home-based workshops. I own and operate both film and digital cameras from multiple manufacturers including Mamiya, Minolta, Canon, Nikon, and Yashica. I also do repairs and cleanings of equipment at the Illinois Institute of Art.
