Adam, I'm afraid you are looking at things from the wrong perspective. It's a huge mistake to get into acting because people tell you how handsome you are. You should try modeling instead. Acting
I recommend two options. The first is to find a community college in your area that offers classes in theatre, and try one out to see if you really enjoy it. Your second option is to find a local theatre
Joshua, I think you'd be better off with #2, rather than #1. It's perfectly OK do to an audition from a show like that. However, one of the first rules of auditioning is never make your audience uncomfortable
