All areas of residential heating and cooling service/repair. I am a service technician and have been all of my career. I can't stand to see people ripped off or sold new units when it needed simple repairs. I have specialized in geothermal, hydronics and fuel oil. I can answer questions on accessories such as humidifiers and ventilators. Will answer questions on ductless split system, commercial ice machines and commercial refrigeration, zoning, heat pumps, tankless hot water , and thermostats. Experiance in both old units and all the new residential equipment such as modulating furnaces and two stage a/c units.

What do you like about this subject?

I love the new technology that is constantly changing in this field. This forces me to study and take classes which furthers my education. After 15 years the education never stops.

Phil, this could be several issues. Might want to check obvious things like make sure the gas is on. The heating control board on this unit should flash a code, this might help narrow the problem down

Jeffrey, Kerosene may be causing the problem. I have only used kerosene for temporary testing. Kerosene has a different flashpoint over fuel oil, so you really have changed the way this furnace fires

2009-10-27 Buzzing noise:

Sam, a noise when the unit is off is unusual. When the unit is off there is no power applied and noises should happen. I have seen this before and the problem was the compressor discharge valve leaking
