As for the zone boxes ,they are in the attic near furnace supply plenum , easily found, I would just remove them easy job, the boxes are maybe 1 cu ft or so depending onsize duct, the AC mode , cool air

sounds like a ignitionn module, there isnt any test for a sensor it just senses power as a gtrounding rod and if clean is fine , as long as no continuity to ground , near the asembly, the sensor senses

The old ge units generally had linesets that are not compatible for heat mode, they are flexible and will melt inside and plug up, I have seen this done once before, I suggest looking at it and seeing
