I currently manage a private 16 acre estate. i am in charge of the general maintenance of buildings and i supervise the landscape maintenance staff. i teach landscape/horticulture evening classes for a community college in NJ. I taught landscape/horticultural classes for a NJ vocational high school for 5 years. prior to that I owned & operated a landscape/garden center facility for 20 + years. My experience is in commercial & residential sales & care of houseplants as well as landscaping.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

The main thing I like about landscape / horticulture is that you can learn something new everyday. What was true yesterday isn't necessarily true today (tree paint, fertilizers, etc.). Things constantly change. New plants & other products are being introduced everyday (buyer be aware). Read 10 different books & get 10 different ways to look at a pr

i have a bachelor's degree in zoology. i have 25+ years practical experience in the landscape/horticultural field. i am a NJ certified agricultural trades teacher(5 years). i currently teach at a NJ county community college part-time. i am an estate manager and gardener supervisor. i would like to complete my masters program in entomology w/in 2-3 years. it's never too late to learn.
