Automobiles are very complex machines. The problems and countless. While I and most technicians I know consider to know everything, we do not. That is why I personally have never fixed a vehicle over the phone or internet. I have helped in diagnosis, but not fixed. So please take this into consideration when reading the answers.
Hi My best answer would be to check the fuel pressure when it will not start. Guessing will only cost money. Check fuel pressure, spark from coil and also from dist to plugs. If presssure bleeds down

Hi- What was the code? p0174? or p0171? I would check the fuel pressure rguulator (small round regulator located on the DRIVERS side fuel rail, underhood) Pull off the small vacuum line off the regulator
Hi First, my personal opinion is UNLESS your differential is making any noises (roar, whine, whirr, etc...) I would make DANG sure the ring/pinion is your culprit. GM's have historically made serious
