I was born and raised in Birmingham and I have traveled extensively throughout Alabama.
MLIS degree from the University of Alabama. B.A. in English Literature from Spring Hill College in Mobile. Freelance writer since 1995. Reference Librarian at Auburn Public Library.
Alabama is home to many great writers and storytellers and has a rich history.
I hope to learn more about Alabama and its history through answering questions. I also enjoy telling people the great things about our state.
Native Alabamanians include Helen Keller, Nat King Cole, A.G. Gaston, Courteney Cox, Kate Jackson, Hank Aaron, Carl Lewis, Jesse Owens, Bo Jackson, and Charles Barkley.
Birmingham is still overcoming the scars of the Civil Rights Movement.

Dear Brenley, From what I can gather, I would recommend a flight from Memphis to New Orleans to reduce driving time. I assume you would turn the car in at Memphis and then rent another car in New Orleans?
