Something controversial or provocative about this subject 

Provocative: Mediterranean and French paradoxes.

Developing the Banta Diet, I was trying to understand and employ the generalized "European paradox."
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know: 

1) Low carb dieters really can eat more calories and still lose weight;

2) Atkins diet contains elements that can't be controlled by dieters and I think this is the most common reason for failures.
