Aloha, I can answer I would say about 99 % of all questions relating to Hawai`i.
I work for tour agencies as a tour guide so have a wonderful island experience especially from the view of travelers and newcomers to the islands. I am also a high school language teacher.
Hawai'i is paradise and I want to make sure others who visit our islands get the best experience possible.
It is so interesting to read the questions others have and sometimes, even I learn something new!
There is more to Hawai'i than people think, not just Hula in banana leaf skirts ( which by the way are NOT used for Hula skirts ) and Waikiki. We have a wonderful people and culture that we are proud to call our own.
Hawai'i is a state within the States. We belong to the USA yet allow and challenge ourselves to be very different than the rest of our beloved country.

Aloha, Here in Hawaii we have many cultures and religions that are mixed and combined, so there is not one specific ritual per se. However people tend to bring flowers to the funeral and also money for
Aloha, You may contact the Mauna Kea Observatory directly to get infos on tours. Most people take tours by car or van to go up to the summit. Helicopter tours cover the active lava flows, not the observatory
I am waiting for the correct answer from a Hawaiian professor and will let you know soon I haven't forgotten you :-) Here I am Sorry for the late reply that was not an easy question
Aloha, Sorry for the late reply. You have 2 choices, you can move to Maui and stay in Lahaina or to O'ahu and stay in Waikiki. Those are the 2 locations with all the traffic, stores, restaurants etc
