Aloha, I can answer I would say about 99 % of all questions relating to Hawai`i.
I work for tour agencies as a tour guide so have a wonderful island experience especially from the view of travelers and newcomers to the islands. I am also a high school language teacher.
Hawai'i is paradise and I want to make sure others who visit our islands get the best experience possible.
It is so interesting to read the questions others have and sometimes, even I learn something new!
There is more to Hawai'i than people think, not just Hula in banana leaf skirts ( which by the way are NOT used for Hula skirts ) and Waikiki. We have a wonderful people and culture that we are proud to call our own.
Hawai'i is a state within the States. We belong to the USA yet allow and challenge ourselves to be very different than the rest of our beloved country.

Aloha again, As I told you before you need to first get in touch with HMSA or Pacific Health or the Queens Medical Center in Honolulu since you cannot be more than 30 miles away from a VA hospital.
Aloha Pat, First of all I am sorry to hear that your husband is sick and I hope his disease will only progress slowly. Hawaii has one of the best medical cares in the country. As for VA hospitals
Aloha Jer, Kaena Point is a good hike, so is Diamond Head. As for beaches, the ones I prefer are North Shore and also Waikiki in front of the Moana. Then of course there are all the beautiful ones
Aloha Jer, Welcome to Hawaii. How nice to have your family come and visit :-) I am not sure if your parents are in good health and want to go on hikes, swim or rather shop and do "easy" stuff.
Aloha Puai, The word olea alone has no meaning. There is ole which means conch shell then there is oleha which means dazzled also drunk not sure what you want to say Can you give me the context
