First I suggest you relax about your possible problem. Since I can't see you or your x rays I can't be absolutely certain about what is going on but I can tell you the facts that make me think your concerns
There will be less chance of pain during this procedure because the tooth has been dead for 6 years since the root canal was done. That means the nerves that cause the pain are no longer in the tooth
