Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  You can do more with a total joint replacement then you think or have been told. That is course depending on your overall physical and mental attitude.
Something controversial or provocative about this subject  The joint replacements can handle more stress then you are led to believe IF you rehab it correctly and strengthen the surrounding muscles accordingly. Most patients are never given the proper teaching or preperation prior to surgery even though there are good pre-surgical classes out there.
What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  Keeping as many people as independent as possible. To help people learn and gain knowledge on their own about themselves and not turn their themselves over to a system that is broken for all the answers.
What do you like about this subject?  I enjoy the Human Skeleton and the wonderful machine it is, My expertise is the knee due to my studies and the fact I have rehabilitated my own after total joint replacement.
