| 2009-03-20 | Mary | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | Yes | Hi Tom, Thanks for your affirmation. I believe my client was mistaken, & file was fine. As a novice in illustrator, I question everything! Mary |
| 2009-03-18 | Marianne | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | No | Thanks, Tom. When I tried your suggestion, the overall positive shape was right, but the letters distorted making them appear 3-D like they were curving around a vertical cylinder. Anyway, I tried Effect>Warp>Lower Arch and was able to achieve the desired result with a Horiz. -15% setting. Marianne |

| 2007-01-11 | Matthew | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | No | Cheers anyway! sorted it out, designed it in indesign but took the pics from illustrator into indesign and exported as a pdf, very small file size now, Thanks |
| 2006-07-13 | Mandy | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | No | This is how I got the halftone to work. Change the color to pantone uncoated spot color swatch (example Black Hexacrome). Then change the percentage of the color (example 25%). Choose Effect dropdown menu, Document Raster effects settings, greyscale. Then choose filter menu, colors, conver to greyscale. Then under effect menu, pixilate color halftone, keep settings listed in order: 8 pix, 108, 162, 90, 45. To space halftones out make the percentage of color a lower number. Please try this and let me know if all these steps are necessary or if there is an easier way. The reason it has to be in Illustrator rather than photoshop is that the halftones have to print out as vector dots that are clean and consistant where as a raster based program makes then jagged. |

| 2006-06-19 | Greg | 10 | 10 | 8 | 10 | Yes | Thanks, You've been very helpful. Since posting my question I have found some other funny but helpful sites the first is two guys flaming over technique: http://www.photoshoptechniques.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14979 And this was also illuminating: http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/?14@507.jbiMgdvzryf@.3bbdae4d/0 In the interest of others I made a pattern of 2 3 and 4 pixel dots and then grouped them in a one inch square. then I drug them over to the swatch pallet. These will come in handy in the future for half tone shading. Thanks a bunch Tom. Greg |
