2009-11-17Emma1091010YesBob, thanks very much for your guidance. I love learning new things about Excel! It always amazes me how much it can do. I was not aware of the N function before, or the necessity of converting text to numbers. I'm excited to add some new tools to my spreadsheet "toolbox". Your suggestions worked perfectly. A correctly functioning formula is a beautiful thing. :-) And so is your wonderful help!

2009-11-03SURANJANA981010NoHi, Thanks for Your reply.It is helpful. I also find out one VBA code that can help to separate the numbers as well as check this with a given range of data and if entered number does not match with any defined data then pop up error msg. Sub ParseWords() Dim x, i, str str = Cells(1, 1).Value x = Split(str, ",") i = 1 Do While i < UBound(x) + 2 Cells(2, i).Value = x(i - 1) If Cells(2, i).Value = Cells(4, 1) Or Cells(2, i).Value = Cells(4, 2) Or Cells(2, i).Value = Cells(4, 3) Or Cells(2, i).Value = Cells(4, 4) Then Else MsgBox ("Wrong Employee ID") End If i = i + 1 Loop End Sub

2009-10-28Kevin10101010NoThanks. Your script was short, elegant and worked like a charm. Searched the web high and low and found snippets of code far more complex that didn't work. I appreciate the speedy response too it helped a lot (though I'm just getting around to my own acknowledgement, sorry). Still not sure why the Macro Recorder can't record the process when you carry out the task using menu options, but I'm just happy for a solution. Thanks again!
