2009-08-25Lola10101010NoThank you Dr. Gold for your attention to my question. I will look into the web site you recommended to follow up. It's amazing how "we loose it if we don't use it" becomes more relevant with age. Sincerely, LJB
2009-08-03Maureen10101010NoMr Gold, As I have said previously; more professionals like you in the medical system would improve it drastically. Classes should be taught to anyone in the medical profession about how to treat patients. Even teach someone to pretend they care. I may be pollyannish, but it seems many medical professionals just don't care anymore. It's the money. There are the few, and you are one of the few, who really care (like Drs without borders, etc.) and then there are those, such as a former internist. When I asked why she decided to become a doctor, silly me, she said because she liked science. Hmmm. Once again. Your caring attitude has made a difference in my life already and all I've done so far is read your replies and paste all the sites you provided into my 'Favorites'. When I read your short bio, I was even more impressed. Somatics sounds exactly like what I need. No more drugs. Work on the muscle spasms. I totally agree with the view that most pain is caused in one way or anther by muscle spasms. It is totally apparent to me, especially when the pain creeps around to my chest .....
2009-08-03Maureen10101010YesDear Mr Gold, Thank you so very much for the quick and concise reply to my very long question. Your response was refreshingly honest and to the point. I'm impressed that you didn't rule out surgery in one fell swoop. I will be eagerly reading your suggestions soon. I can't tell you how refreshing your positive attitude is. I am having trouble walking, so though I would like to exercise and questioned you about it; it just isn't feasible. I'm glad I didn't hear, "No pain, no gain." Walking a very short distance leaves me in severe (9) back, thorax (front and back) and currently left leg pain. I plan to spend tonight studying your suggestions. I'm intrigued, especially since your offerings don't seem to involve more drugs. Though "Thank You" seems a fairly weak phrase for what I am trying to say about your assistance--this is the best I can currently come up with. The medical profession needs more caring, altruistic people, like you, in its ranks. I think that would solve many problems in medicine today. Sincerely, Maureen Martinek
